At JHP, one of our goals is to understand and minimize the potential for error in our research practices, in order to ensure the safety of participants and integrity of the data.
Our Quality Management (QM) team has extensive experience supporting collaborative multi-country clinical trials and epidemiologic studies. The QM team works closely with all study clinics, the laboratory, pharmacy and data officers to identify and analyze challenges and best practices in protocol compliance and documentation. QM also liaises with research sponsors, auditors, monitors and regulatory authorities to ensure JHP research implementation meets rigorous local and international standards. The QM team brings decades of training and experience in public health, research, nursing and data management. We orient new staff to source documents and research-specific concepts, organize clinical research trainings and staff development workshops, and ad-hoc advising on all aspects of research study preparation and conduct, at both the site-level and study-level. QM is a hub for JHP’s research compliance activities, as we strive for participant protections and data integrity at all times.
"I enjoy my work and take pride in it. I know that my day-to-day tasks contribute to a major plan for HIV prevention and treatment around the world. At the core of my work is ensuring that research ethics, data integrity and comprehensive participant clinical care are implemented at all times. These day-to-day duties give me a sense of fulfillment. They play a major role in ensuring that quality and reliable data are available to influence changes in the treatment and prevention of HIV and comorbidities, for the good of our communities." – Dumisile Huwa, CRS Coordinator
